The Dutch printer Mouthaan Grafisch Bedrijf, founded in 1934, has created an eye-catching company brochure. Not only does its tactile surface wonderfully illustrate Mouthaan’s expertise in the printing business, but it is also pleasing to the ear.
‘We were very keen to design a promotional sales tool that appeals to our target group, but also one that would surprise our customers and make them curious to find out more’, said Mr. Kees Diamant, owner of Mouthaan. ‘At the same time, we also wanted to demonstrate our converting skills.’ The brochure ‘Ons Drukwerk klinkt als Muziek in je Oren’ (our print work is music to your ears) has done just that!
With its highly embossed capital letters, the front of the brochure is very striking. It unfolds into a mock LP, and the printing colours and varnish imitating the record grooves look so much like the real thing, it’s tempting to touch it and check. To complete the experience, there is an actual LP inside the brochure that plays the sounds of Mouthaan’s printing press.
This unusual promotional tool required a special paperboard. For this reason, Mouthaan contacted its long-standing partner IPP who specialises in sourcing and distributing packaging materials. ‘We accompany our customers on a project-by-project basis to propose materials that best meet their specific needs’, said Ariën Kievit, IPP Sales Director. ‘In this case we recommended FibreForm® White Duo.’
FibreForm® White Duo is an uncoated pure cellulose board that has a wonderful, natural feel to it. At the same time, it has an extremely high tensile stretch and tearing resistance, which allows for unusually deep embossing.
